Hulu freezes after commercials

It's bad enough that Hulu makes me watch the same commercials during every break of every show, but now the app freezes after each commercial break. I have to turn off the TV, turn it back on, restart Hulu, restart the show, and re-watch the commercials.

Then maybe I get to see the next segment of the show. This stinks. I'm almost ready to go back to cable. And that's saying something.

( i'm using Hulu on a Vizio TV, hardwired, with excellent broadband service. It's Hulu, not me.)

I'm having the same problem as well. They act as if they never heard of this before.

But, now that I'm reading the reviews I see that I'm not alone. I'm getting rid of this app!!!!

No help at customer service and the promised call backs never happen. Just horrible!!!!!!!!!

Hulu continues to raise their prices while their services continues to decline, they don't offer their customers any resolution and contacting them is extremely difficult. Time to search for new streaming service

The "Hulu Freeze" continues. Someone from Hulu six months ago actually had the balls to simply post: "This sounds like behavior that our teams are currently looking into?" Guess what?

You failed. Are failing. No fix yet. Are y'all still working on it?

What seems to be the problem? Why isn't my $64.99 a month paying for new coders, because the ones you have now apparently are incompetent? How 'bout an update? I am giving you an update.

The comments are giving you an update. My Hulu freezes all the time. Commercials, between shows, in the middle of an amazing finish to a sporting event.

They know that the "uninstall and reinstall" the app instructions is a smokescreen to say "we do not know what the *** we are doing." Dumping Hulu again. If Hulu is the model for "streaming is the future," give me back my coaxial cable.

Experienced the same song and dance on April 28th! Tired of watching at 10 - 30 minute intervals.

Seriously considering returning to satellite TV. Cost is higher but performance (unless there's bad weather) is consistent.

If I was an advertiser I would be pissed. My screen is black or the commercials freezes.

it plays fine through the show but I have to refresh after a few minutes until the commercials are done. Annoying.

My experience is a little worse. Programming will simply freeze and no way to correct.

Hulu walked me through the process to un-install Hulu and then reinstall it. This can happen several during an evening.

Also, I am a race fan and we have missed the last 20 minutes of the last two races we were watching. Looking for a new streaming service.

I’ve tried hulu live for 5 months now. What a pile of garbage.

They have changed the navigation of their service twice in the last week. What is aggravating is they made it harder to navigate. However the idiot is that is running this garbage should be fired.

Exact same here. On a Visio ya with excellent service.

We even turned WiFi off on our phone. Turned of everything. Rebooted tv and WiFi.

We get through the ad just fine and then it freezes. I’ve watched ad 2 of 2 14 times in a row.

I canceled after being forced to use the new interface. It's difficult to navigate and has removed many of the features that made the old Hulu interface so user friendly.

Autoplay will play shows you do not want to watch. Your watchlist is difficult to find and no longer allows you to find your unwatched shows at the top of the list. It is VERY easy to find shows that you do not want to watch, as Hulu will shove them down your throat on every screen. What you won't see?

Your stuff.

People have been complaining about this for months after they were forced to use this UI on other devices...but Hulu pushed it anyway.

I am not paying for a service that ignores it's customers and, because of that, has no clue what they want.

I used to love Hulu. I seldom use it now because it's so difficult and time consuming to find anything to watch.

Who wants to scroll endlessly to the right?

Not having to do that was why I used Hulu, as opposed to Netflix and Amazon Prime, in the first place. Disappointed.

The recent changes HULU has made has cost us quality viewership. The navigation is horrible and now looks and feels like DirectTV.

We canceled DirectTV for HULU and now are strongly considering doing the same with HULU. NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR UI UPGRADE!!!!!!

I'm about to cancel as well after being a customer for at least 4 years. All of my shows that I have in keep watching are completely screwed up with other shows I don't watch and there's no way to find anything.

AI working for Hulu is trying to tell me what they think I should watch which is garbage. Fix it back to the way it was or I am canceling and that's it. It is ridiculously hard to find anything with the crazy interface screen we're dealing with in 2020. Unbelievable even Netflix is much easier to navigate.

And their help menu which is non-existent?!

I'm done. To *** with artificial intelligence it's crap!

I agree it really sucks, was about to cancel my subscription when I found a button for "Sync Watchlist To My Stuff." Then all my watchlist stuff reappeared where it never was before, in "My Stuff!" I'm going to try it for a bit, but I will say, every time they redesign the interface, it's worse. Interface redesigns should be an improvement to streamline and make a platform better, not an exercise in how to *** off subscribers.

For ad-free with Showtime add on I pay them $25 a month. I'm certainly considering cancelling.

I signed up for the bundle package and already had Hulu. I was charged for Hulu a few days prior, and then when the promotion asked for payment, I had all these new charges.

I'm not sure why they took out three, but I sent it to you from my bank for verification.

Multiple payments were taken out this month; three of them, please reverse. Thank you!

I'm tired of paying for *** service! It's been over a month and still can't get Hulu on my TV.

Looks like it's time to find a new television provider. This is not OK. They don't even offer you a credit for the time you can't watch Hulu that you're paying for.

On a scale of one to ten, ten being best, I would not recommend Hulu to anyone. I give them a -9.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Had to reset the TV.

They would never do a partial refund.

I actually did ask. Pretty sure I can't type the words that come to mind, let's just stick with..."Don't let them fool you".

Lynn was very helpful and nice however, the problem STILL continues. I get a screen stating that THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE PLAYING THIS, I don't understand.

I do not have that issue with the FREE streaming sites.

I should get a discount, or maybe just dump HULU altogether, with a note stating..I AM HAVING TROUBLE PAYING THIS.! It's not worth the aggravation!

Shameful complicity in government censorship and lack of courage, with 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' canceled 'indefinitely,' is just a corporate bow to speech restrictions by the government that are contrary to the public interest. Media censorship and restrictions on free speech do not serve the public interest. Instead, it dismantles our marketplace of ideas and diminishes transparency, accountability, and the free flow of information and ideas. Thus, along with 'Jimmy Kimmel,' my ABC, Hulu, Disney, and ESPN subscriptions are also canceled 'indefinitely.'

Hulu’s cancellation page crashed due to web traffic and they are allegedly offering 70% discounts to keep users from canceling. I hope your using “indefinitely” is just throwing their terminology back at them. Even if they bring Kimmel back it is only due to financial pressure and that is more egregious than their initial action.

They charged me a payment I should have never been charged with. I applied for a one-month free trial of Hulu for a $1 payment. As soon as I unlocked my card, they charged me $21.99 for a month.

I'm 8 minutes 35 seconds into white collar and Ive had 1 45 second add before it started and two two minute ads already the amount of commercials is almost equal to the show and I *** paid for this it's completely unacceptable what a waste of money Hulu is I wouldn't be happy but I also wouldn't complain if it was free but talk about railing your customers

The who the company keeps charging me 1199 something that I'm not getting from them I have Disney plus and Hulu combo with a promotion for $4.99 for a year but therefore not only do they charge me the 499 they charge me 1199 for Hulu you know it's getting pretty frustrating but every month I just called reimbursement money so thank you for the ladies that I've talked to 2 months in a row they managed to get my problem situated I just wish they could get it situated firmly till I got to say

The Hulu subscription prices vary depending on the plan. For the ad-supported plan, you have to pay $7.99/ month or $79.99/year, at the same time the No-ads plan costs $17.99/month. To find out more details regarding prices, visit the “Help Center” page of the company’s website and follow “Plans and pricing”.

If you don’t want to use the features of the Hulu subscription, you can cancel it by several simple actions: navigate to “Select Cancel” under “Your Subscription” on your “Account” page, and choose “Cancel” from two options, after which follow “Cancel Subscription”.

The Max (with ads), Cinemax, and STARZ options cost $9.99/month. For Max No Ads, you have to pay $15.99/month. The Paramount + with SHOWTIME option costs $11.99/month. However, the prices may change, so check them on the “Plan and pricing” page of the company’s official site.
